Ambitious
This project focused on creating a versatile, eco-friendly furniture piece for residential use by upcycling pre-owned materials. The design involved repurposing two 40ft shipping containers into a modern home. A cupboard was transformed into a multifunctional unit with storage, a bookshelf, and foldaway clotheslines, mounted on a lazy Susan base for mobility. In this industry, the designing of cabinetry and joinery units is usually a separate process to the construction and assembly. I wanted to challenge conventional notions in the Spatial Design field by designing and constructing this piece myself, by hand. This project was completed in 8 weeks of my semester which portrays the sense of my Ambition.
